1. Preformed Armor Rod Shaping
1.1 Technical Requirements
After shaping is completed, the bore diameter of the preformed armor rod meets the design requirements. The thread pitch is required to be uniform, and the pitch deviation is ±5mm. The deviation of the length reaches ±2%.
The selection of single armor rods, guide rollers and forming dies depends on different production orders. After installation and trial runs are completed, we measure the bore diameter and thread pitch of the preformed armor rod, and then adjust the angle of the extrusion head until the size of the armor rod meet the order requirements. Prior to mass production, we carry out article inspection to ensure that the rods are in compliance with the order requirements and then record the test results.
2. Preformed Armor Rod End Processing
2.1 Technical Requirements
The ends of the preformed armor rod should be clean, flat and free of burrs. This helps to prevent wires or cables from scratches during installation.
The tool holder is kept0.5mmfrom the grinding wheel. The height of the tool holder is the same as the diameter of the armor rod to be ground. Before grinding is conducted, these two ends of the armor rod are arranged in a straight line. Next, the operator holds the front part of the rod in his left hand while simultaneously holding the middle part of the rod in his right hand, and then the rod is run through the grinding process.
3. Preformed Armor Rod Coating
3.1 Technical Requirements
In order to achieve outstanding abrasion resistance, our preformed splices are coated with conductive grease. Both the inner and outer rods of the strain clamp need to be coated with silicon carbide. The inner rod is designed with a mesh size of up to0.18mm, and the outer rod comes with a mesh size of up to0.25mm. The coating should be flat, uniform and free of bulges.
After the end processing is done, preformed armor rods are required to undergo cleaning, rod repair and reinforcement, as well as gluing and coating procedures.
4.1 Technical Requirements
1) Generally speaking, the strand length of the strain clamp is equal to two thread pitches.
2) As for the strain clamp with small thread pitch, the strand length depends on different types of connection. It is normally several times as long as the thread pitch of the preformed armor rod.
3) Strand tightness: tight strand by visual inspection
4) Center mark deviation: ±3mm
First, the preformed armor rod is positioned and fastened correctly. Next, mark the position of center of the rod with a deviation of ±3mm. Then, switch off and carry out the stranding process. After stranding is completed, switch on to open the pressing plate automatically. Finally, take out the preformed armor rod and place it on the rack.
5.1 Technical Requirements
1) Bending Center Deviation: ±5mm
2) Each end of the rod is perfectly shaped.
3) The preformed armor rod is never compressed or damaged.
4) Parallel loop segments after the shaping process
Place the metal fitting on the bender worktable. The centerline of tension part of the fitting is directed at the center of the mold. Next, check if these two ends of the tension part are symmetric. Then, press the footswitch and conduct a bending process in which the two ends of the metal fitting will be corrected.
